Food Survey

Oitsy there.

On thursday 030507, Well-Being Committee launched their first Food Suvery at cafe 1 and 2. It was something different from the previous food survey. However much tough it seems to get the students to particapate in the first place, in the end it was worth it!

This time around, we get the students to place their votes by placing stickers on a chart. The subject for this month was 'Hygiene'. We even gave feedback forms to students who want to a say in the food survey. Overall, after countless of votes and discussions, the majority choose.... 'MUSLIM DELIGHTS' and 'JAPANESE FOOD' for Cafe 1. 'INDO/THAI' was choosen for Cafe 2. Congrats to them and may they keep it up!

Remember, DO participate in our future Food Survey! YOU have the right to get better quality, worth spending, good pricing food in the cafes!

well, i've done a few changes here and there for this blog. hmms. i wanna change the tagboard colour too. its still undergoing process. the agreed colour the last time was GREEN. so, the template's still green. and green is house comm's favourite colour! anybody wanna change colour?? (:

the whole week has been full of events. as much as i'd love to update, i can't cause i'm not involve, which means, i have no idea what to write! :/

CCA comm's finally having their 1st EVER OUTING. yipee! we'll be going to VIVO and play with the water there. *sounds lame. it's not lame okay? trust me, it's gonna be full of FUN! :D

well, that's about as much as i can update.

teambuiding for Jan intake Sc(s)

hey hey! a very good evening to all blog readers! today, our Jan intake councillors had a team-building session together with the various EXCO(s) in the Student Activity Room!

well, it started off this morning where about 40+ Jan intake councillors turn up at 9am for a day full of fun and excitement. The first few minutes of the whole session was kind of dull and boring and most of them were still quite sleepy and energy-less. So right after Nabil's "speech" we played a game called "Find-your-committee" game. Every EXCO were given a name list of the councillors and the committee they are in. The twist was that, the EXCO(s) weren't holding their own committee namelist. Instead, it was just randomly picked out. When the game started off, some of the councillors, of course, ran to their own EXCO(s) but to find out that it wasn't their committee. haha. most of them were confident that they got the right one. =p after a few seconds, those who didn't manage to find their committee were forfited to do a chicken dance. haha! so cute. they then managed to find their own committee. The EXCO(s) were then given time to get to know their various new members.

The next game played was called the "Tangled-game". They were suppose to stretch out their hands and just grab anyone's hand. after that, they have to find a way to from a joined circle. PNC comm was the first to manage to get out of the tangle and form a circle. CCA comm had to restart the game thrice as there were really no way for them to form a circle. well, the point is that they didn't give up. kudos to them! after the game, various comms were to come up with their own cheers. the various cheers were so enthu! heks. CCA's cheer was to be shared to everyone. *CCA rocks!* hee. After presenting out their cheers, they were given a few minutes break to catch a drink.

After break, they played "Scavenger Hunt". They were given 20 minutes to find the 20items that are stated in the list, namely items like, a live flower with two leaves, a picture of an aeroplane landing, a one-cent coin, swimming pool water, a comm photo with solid waves and many more. As the fasci(s) and EXCO(s) run around to check on them, the results turned out to be quite funny. For example, one of the items was to find a purple watch. So what some of them did was, they wrote the word purple on a piece of paper then paste it over a watch. So there you have it, "purple-watch"! Haha. Well, they were then to form up a line using the items that they have gotten. Project and CCA comm had a tie of who had the longest line; so was Well-Being and PnC. (House comm was just a bit shorter than Project's) Nabil then talked to them about the attributes they have achieved by playing the game itself.

After the game, the new coucillors were given their SC shirt, all thanks to House comm. *House rocks!* (no, i ain't a betrayer, i'm just their #2 fan. Hehe.) Most of them was quite satisfied with the shirt, cause it's free and NICE. Haha. Well, after that, Nabil released them for lunch. (:

I'm sure, most of the new councillors and EXCO(s) would agree with me that it was "SUPERDY-DOOPERLY-INCREDIBILY-FULL-OF-F-U-N!!" I'm sure most of them went home with so many new things learned. It definitely leaves memories etched in our hearts. (: It really is a good start to the new term of school.

Well, i shall end here. As much as i'd love to blog about the dry-run of Inter-School Telematch, i have nothing to think of right now. I'm just as tired as most of them are. Maybe i'll write about it *hopefully soon, or i'll just leave it to let others talk about it. (:

2) Valentine's Day on 14th April 2007.

This event was initiated by project committee. There were performances and bachelor bidding. Well, take a look at the pictures and it will tell more..

3) Exploration & Ethnicity Camp, 17 & 18 April 2007.

It is a 2 day camp organized by the MCYS. It is a channel where students get together and know more about the different cultures and ethnics. sorry, no pictures. ):

4) Youth Ave Camp, 23-25 April 2007.

It is a 3 day camp @ Republic Poly. Students of the different post-sec institutions, namely, JCs, Polys and ITEs come together and have fun! We learn to break the barrier between the different levels of education, get to widen our network and talked about the different topics that has relations with youths nowadays. sorry, no pictures. ):

5) BLAZE I, 26-28th April 2007.

It is a 3 day camp held at NACLI. It is a Student Leadership Development Programme organized by our school's lifeskills dept to the various CCA leaders in our school. We undergo two days of theory training to change the mindset of young people that being a leader doesn't mean we have the authority to order people. Sometimes, we have to let others lead and we, be the follower. On the third day, we input what we have learn in theory by going through obstacle challenges together as a team. sorry, no pictures yet. ):

a very good rainy afternoon to all of you! yes, its been eons since we last updated this blog. well, lets start back from where we last ended off.

the previous event we updated about was SC Appreciation Night on 26 Jan 07. well, here's a list of the past events we had so far. take a look! (:

1) Opening of Student Activity Centre on 12th February 2007.

This event was managed by House committee. It is to officially open the Student Activity Centre and to promote the activites we, student councillors, provide to the students of our school. take a look!

Supposingly if you guys think that during the Holidaes the SC Room is so quiet. You are so wrong. We had all the different committees that has been coming back to have their regular meetings and get together sessions most importantly. There has been real great experiences that is goin on as well.

All of us are also preparing to gear up for the upcoming Youth Challenge OVERNIGHT Cycling Challenge. Wow, can u imagine there has been up to 30++ just solely from Student Council itself turning up for this event. It will be a great exposure and get toegther session for the Whole of Student Council.

Appreciation Dinner

On the 26th of January 2007, Thursday, we had this Appreciation Dinner. This dinner was specialy with the purpose of re-uniting with the previous batch of student councilers.

Like wise, every dinner has its own theme for the night. Our theme was Retro. Everybody was so cool and so groovy in their respective costumes.

To sum it all up, the night was so totally funky, retroish (is there such word?) and awesome lar!

Harmony Works Conference 2006 - 25 November 2006 [ITE College East, Auditorium]

Dr Ng Eng Hen [Minster for Manpower and Second Minister for Defence]

GOH & VIP Ushers [Kieth & Fazil] was so busy ushering the GOH & Mayor on stage and back during the speech.segment.

Azhari, Maziah. Vanness, Kieth & Fazil were busy register invited guests, speakers and the media attending the conference.

Meiling & Saifullah [Emcee] were hosting the conference. WELL DONE~!!

Hidayah, Zhi Ming, Selemat & Faris were busy issusing blazers for SC members before the conference start. 7am they already reached SC room starting to prepare the blazers. "THANKS GUYS ~!! "

Our Auditorium was filled with all students from all different schools in Singapore, they were from the Secondary School, Junior Colleges (JC), ITE, Polytechnics, Madrasahs and even International Schools. "WOW~!! Really alot of ppl leh~!"
